'Doomwyte' is definitely a page turner, with a mystery and an eerie feel to it- I loved that. I couldn't put it down, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole thing. Some of Jacques recent novels of Redwall I would describe as good books, but not great.

Doomwyte is the most recent book by Brian Jacques featuring the creatures of Redwall. I was a little disappointed by this one. I was a little disappointed by this one. There were still the wonderful descriptions of Redwall Abbey and all the feasts and the different animal dialects, but the story was just not very convincing.4/5.

After all this time the books have blended together to form one really LONG story and it becomes difficult to distinguish between the individual books. That being said, Doomwyte is not my favorite Doomwyte book the series (my favorite is The Long Patrol).
